I Love You

사랑해 (I Love You) is a song to a loved one and it has been tagged by most media as a proposal song. It has the classic golden hits vibe about it. Listening to the song brings to mind songs from the heydays of Rock and Roll, where the lyrics were simpler and more about innocent love.

I admire how Rain explores different genre of music. Now in Rain Effect Special Edition, I Love You stands out from the usual RnB style. It is a lovely addition to the album, showing us how best he is at channeling that lovey dovey feel.

I Love You seems to be a formal song. Come to think of it, this is the type of song that you would play at a wedding dinner for the wedding couple to lead in a dance, right? Maybe that is why it was tagged as a proposal song. It is not the usual clubbin’, break up, or happy couple song. I Love You is a song which reminisces about a more innocent and purer time.

The song has an orchestral background. Thankfully, the official music video has English subtitles. The lyrics are very romantic. Rain sings with such sincerity in his voice. I Love You is a simple love song. It emphasizes its main message: I love you with all my heart.

A song telling a loved one about what you feel, a complicated feeling of love that words fall short. This is Rain’s 사랑해 (I Love You).
